The history of the Italian Artificial Vision Group began in the 80’s in a company called “Officine Galileo of Florence”, with a team of pioneers of artificial vision, they had the mission to convert the knowledge of algorithms and projects developed for the military and space field to civil applications. Despite the early success and a contract for the avionics industry, in 1994 the Officine Galileo was forced to abandon civilian activities and dedicate itself to the defense sector and space sensors.

Drawing from the experience, the team leader of industrial automation and control systems decided to continue their work and found the Falcon Instruments, which today is part of the Italian Artificial Vision Group.
